CPJH Frequently Asked Questions and Helpful Information

All families with a student registered at CPJH for the upcoming school year will receive an electronic newsletter from Principal Miller, which includes pertinent information. Learn how to order supplies and PE uniforms, and more. The best way to stay informed is to read the newsletter in its entirety.

· Will my child need a cell phone for school? The district policy states that phones are permitted on campus; however, our CPJH campus rules only permit phones to be visible/accessed before school and after dismissal.

· Will my child have a locker? Students will not be issued lockers, with the exception of special requests. Those requests will be processed by the third week of school. Please note that PE and Dance students will have lockers for those classes.

· What measures are taken to prevent my student’s bike from being stolen? The only way to prevent bike theft is to have your student use a bike lock.

· Will my student have a chance to walk their classroom schedule before the first day of school? Yes. CPJH hosts a 6th grade “Cougar Camp” the week before school starts. They’ll pick up their schedule, and you can walk with them to their classrooms. No teachers will be in classrooms during this event.

· How do I learn about clubs and other extracurricular options available to my child? Clubs and organizations will be set up in the gym during cougar camp.

· What volunteer opportunities are available for parents? There are several opportunities that arise throughout the year, including spirit wear, yard sign and sponsor swag distribution; grade specific events; quarterly academic awards; fence cups; teacher luncheons and teacher lounge; and more! Be sure to join the PTO at cpjhpto.org to be added to the communication list for volunteer opportunities.

· Can I drop off lunch for my child? Uber Eats, Grub Hub, Door Dash and restaurant deliveries are not allowed. However, parents may drop off food (for their child only) at the front entry. It is the responsibility of the parent to communicate and the child to pick up – it will not be delivered to your child. No pizzas allowed.

· Will there be crossing guards at Kuykendahl & Creekside Green Drive? TISD does not provide crossing guards for that intersection, as it is the property is not owned by the district. For any concerns regarding this intersection, contact Precinct 4 or The Woodlands Township.
